On the site of a beautifully repurposed Strip District warehouse, Eleven offers an imaginative, seasonal menu, an extensive wine list, and many creative cocktail options. Eleven’s offerings can be enjoyed through its a la carte menu, a nightly tasting menu, or through its more casual bar menu, making it a hit with all types of restaurant-goers. Since 2015, Eleven has been a Gold designated Sustainable Pittsburgh Restaurant, demonstrating a high level of commitment to sustainability and to the Pittsburgh region.
“As a member of the local and world communities, we believe that operating a sustainable restaurant business is an inherent responsibility,” says Bill Fuller of big Burrito. “We have incorporated seasonal ingredients, intelligent sourcing, and local food products into food at all levels of the company. Reduction of resource usage and non-recyclable waste has always been a core element of our business and we continue to strive to consume less. And of course, the livability of the lives of our employees is paramount and we are working to find ways to offer improvements to the rigorous lives of restaurant workers.”
The multi-level seating in Eleven’s modern interior and wrap-around terrace offer a year-round dining setting that is sure to please. The menu features creative presentations of delicious dishes that include vegetarian, seafood, and meat options for brunch, lunch, and dinner. Plus, the cocktail and wine menu are always a hit. All in all, Eleven offers a memorable dining experience patrons won’t soon forget.
Eleven has committed to sustainability through numerous practices. Among these practices, the chefs source the majority of meat and produce locally from within a 150-mile radius, and a large portion of the food offerings carry organic certifications or are naturally grown. The restaurant collaborates with Catholic Charities and the East End Cooperative Ministries to offer employment opportunities to vulnerable populations, and they guarantee a weekly minimum number of working hours to all hourly employees. Eleven also uses some renewable energy sources, Energy Star appliances, energy-efficient lighting, and they carefully audit energy usage and reports to track energy efficiency.
