The second annual Steel Chef Cook-Off, sponsored by Sustainable Pittsburgh Restaurants and Aramark, was held at the Ryan Arts Center at Focus on Renewal in McKees Rocks on March 18. Three teams made up of local professional chefs and teens squared off in front of a sold-out crowd. The teams prepared gourmet meals for three celebrity judges, Kevin Sousa of Superior Motors; Hal B. Klein, Pittsburgh Magazine associate editor and restaurant critic; and Liana Maneese of The Good Peoples Group. A Steel Chef pop-up restaurant event will be held in late April at Arnold’s Tea House on the North Side, featuring the night’s winning dish. For more information: www.forstorox.org.
